(A Disintegrin and Metalloproteinase 33) is expressed strongly in bronchial smooth muscle cells and lung fibroblasts and is involved in airway hyperresponsiveness and decreased lung function.

Treatment of asthma in Ayurveda

The aim of treatment is to move the excess Kapha back to the stomach and then eliminate it.

  • Lukewarm water, Goat milk, Honey
  • Respiratory exercise, Pranayama, Yoga
  • Gourds, ivy gourd
  • Citron
  • Amaranthus
  • Raisins, cardamom 


Don’ts:

  • Exposure to Cold & Humid atmosphere
  • Sweets, Chilled water, Stored food items, Curd
  • Suppression of natural urges
  • Excessive physical exertion
  • Exposure to Smoke, Dust and fumes, Pollutants, and Pollens
  • Sheep milk
  • Ghee extracted from sheep milk
  • Contaminated water
